SYS Technologies to punch up NORAD software

SYS Technologies won a task order to deliver software engineering services for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the Northern Command.

Under the one-year, $1 million contract, the San Diego Company will design, develop, and integrate a Web-based, net-centric information processing and sharing system for enhanced awareness of battlefield situations.

The program addresses NORAD and the Northern Command's requirement to rapidly analyze an incident, assess the situation, and carry out an effective response to a threat, attack, or natural disaster.

The software suite includes geospatial information system infrastructure that will allow for seamless sharing of tactical, operational, and strategic data by and between DOD and non-DOD mission partners on the Norad/Northern Command network.

SYS Technologies, which offers IT connectivity technologies to the public and private sectors, has principal offices in California, Maryland and Virginia.
