Karta Technologies to retool Air Force med info systems

The Air Force Surgeon General has awarded Karta Technologies Inc. a $75 million contract to furnish information modernization technology services.

The Air Force Surgeon General has awarded Karta Technologies Inc. a $75 million contract to furnish information modernization technology services.

Terms of the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract call for Karta of San Antonio to deliver personnel, equipment, materials, facilities and other services for worldwide medical IT projects.

Karta will support systems development, implementations and modeling. The company also will create best practices, technology standards, engineering, operation, modernization and maintenance for the Air Force Medical Service.

Karta's Healthcare and Technology Solutions division also offers strategic planning, business process re-engineering, program management, IT and special studies to the Air Force Surgeon General and Major Command Surgeons offices.

Karta's federal clients include the Army, Navy, Homeland Security Department, FBI and State Department.
