CSC cuts ribbon on border security center

Computer Sciences Corp. has created a solution center for border security and immigration, one of 17 such centers it operates to focus on specific capabilities for government IT markets.

CSC's Border and Immigration Solutions Center of Excellence offers solutions for issuing identity credentials, doing risk analysis for visa applicants, performing border event case management and delivering and enforcing immigration services. The center's goal is to help federal agencies focus on "high-risk visa applicant and border crossing events," the company said in a statement.

CSC solutions are available for identity management, business process management and transition-planning, identity-based risk assessment, IT modernization and secure information sharing.

With about 78,000 employees, CSC of El Segundo, Calif., reported $14.6 billion in revenue for the 12 months that ended June 30, 2006.

The company ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of federal IT prime contractors.
