Analex nabs DARPA security work

Analex Corp. won a contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to supply technology-related and other security services for the organization's Security and Intelligence Directorate.

The one-year contract, worth $12 million, has four one-year options that could raise its total value to $64.9 million.

Under the contract, Beta Analytics International, a subsidiary of Analex, will help the Security and Intelligence Directorate establish programs that facilitate DARPA's mission, while protecting the agency's technology, people and critical infrastructure.

BAI will furnish integrated security support services, such as information assurance and security, industrial security programs, and database maintenance and management. It also will handle automated security system maintenance and administration, special-access programs and counterintelligence support.

The company said it will perform the work in and around the national capital area and at specified contractor sites.

Analex of Fairfax, Va., offers intelligence, systems engineering and security services primarily to the Defense Department and NASA. The company has about 1,100 employees and had annual revenue of $141 million in 2005.
