Accela Inc. won a $2.6 million contract from Brevard County, Fla., to furnish agencies and citizens with a new enterprise permit and land management solution.
The Accela Automation tool will let agencies respond to the county's requirements for permitting, planning, zoning and code enforcement, and give citizens expanded services and accessibility. It's part of the county's decision to switch from a mainframe application to a Web-based, relational database.
Brevard County, which is located 35 miles east of Orlando, Fla., has more than 500,000 residents. The county's land development, transportation engineering, road, bridge and water resources and building agencies will oversee the new solution.
Privately held Accela of Dublin, Calif., sells enterprise management software solutions to state and local government agencies. Its customers include Atlanta, Kansas City., Mo., Miami-Dade City and County, the state of Michigan, and the counties of Los Angeles and San Diego.
