Defense orders advanced GPS tools from Rockwell Collins

Rockwell Collins Inc. won a $7.8 million contract modification for the purchase of 3,614 defense advanced GPS receivers and accessories.

The receivers will provide the Defense Department with a precise positioning system that is handheld, dual frequency, lightweight and incorporates the next generation, tamper-resistant GPS selective-availability anti-spoofing module.

The defense advanced GPS receiver is a replacement for the precision lightweight GPS receiver in integrated platforms as well as for advanced and basic GPS systems.

Rockwell Collins is in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
