SI International wins Air Force missile systems work

SI International Inc. won a two-year, $4 million contract from the Air Force Space Command to provide systems engineering and technical analysis for the development of future ballistic missile defense systems.

Under the contract, which consists of one base year and one option year, the company will provide pre-systems acquisition planning, problem resolution, software development and related systems engineering support tasks needed to develop and operate ballistic missile systems elements and components.

The company also will provide life-cycle engineering and technical support for current ballistic missile defense programs and projects.

SI International will perform the work at Air Force Space Command headquarters and at company facilities in Colorado Springs, Colo.

SI International of Reston, Va., provides IT and network solutions primarily for the federal government. The company has more than 4,000 people and had annual revenue of $262.3 million in fiscal 2004.

The company ranks No. 49 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
