Not quite right

Your otherwise good coverage of the importance and scope of the Networx bid ("Let the game begin: Teams gird for battle over huge Networx deal," Oct. 10) was marred by an error regarding AT&T Corp. A sidebar ("Networx pros and cons") asserts that one disadvantage for AT&T is that it has laid off a "good portion" of its federal sales force.

Not true. After downsizing several years ago, in recent years we have added experienced salespeople. For at least the past couple years, we have employed more than 100 salespeople to call on civilian and defense agencies.

If we are fortunate enough to win some of the Networx business, we will be prepared fully to meet with agencies and to listen to how we can best meet their IT needs through Networx.
