SiloSmashers to help merge federal acquisition centers

SiloSmashers Inc. has won a pair of contracts from the Interior Department totaling $9.7 million to help merge two previously separate federal acquisition centers into a single procurement organization.

The Fairfax, Va., company will provide project management and liaison support for the merger of the Interior Department's National Business Center with GovWorks' Federal Acquisition Center into a single line of business within NBC.

The NBC offers a full range of administrative services to federal agencies, in addition to managing acquisitions and federal assistance. The business-like operating principles of GovWorks will continue in the new organization, department officials said.
