More than 20,000 government IT and acquisition professionals will be attending FOSE this week. We'll be there too.

FOSE, a showcase for government technology vendors and integrators, runs April 5-7 at the Washington Convention Center. Roughly 500 companies will be exhibiting new software and products, including 100 companies that are just entering the market. FOSE 2005 also will feature companies from Australia, Korea and Northern Ireland.

With FOSE in town, what better time to look at trends in government technology buying? Starting on page one, Washington Technology Staff Writer Doug Beizer talks with top IT vendors, resellers and industry analysts to see where government dollars are flowing. They say the future looks mobile and wireless ? but don't forget security.

As FOSE progresses, we'll continue to keep an eye on the hottest technology news and trends covering FOSE events daily, so you should visit our Web site (www.washingtontechnology.com) for interviews, announcements and other news. Even if you're planning to attend FOSE, check our Web site regularly for updates.

FOSE is owned by PostNewsweek Tech Media, which publishes Washington Technology and Government Computer News.
