BearingPoint Inc. has won a three-year, $31 million contract from San Diego County to provide an integrated property tax system, the company announced this week.

Under the contract, BearingPoint of McLean, Va., will use a phased approach to develop and implement a Web-based integrated property tax system.

The phased approach is intended to let the county quickly benefit from the system while aligning with the schedules of the key departments that plan to use it.

BearingPoint will provide implementation management and continuity for the project as well as subject matter knowledge.

The single integrated system is intended to reduce the overall cost of ownership, improve data accuracy and provide the flexibility necessary to adapt to changes in California property tax laws, the company said.

BearingPoint has about 16,000 employees and had annual sales of $3.2 billion in fiscal 2003.
