EDS wins Wisconsin Medicaid system deal

EDS Corp. has won a seven-year, $189.1 million contract from Wisconsin for a new Medicaid management information system.

EDS Corp. has won a seven-year, $189.1 million contract from Wisconsin for a new Medicaid management information system, the company announced today.

EDS will develop and implement the Medicaid system for the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. The contract has a two-year development and implementation period followed by a five-year management term.

EDS also will continue operating the state's decision support system and data warehouse, immunization registry, encounter data system, and lien, estate and affidavit processor work-flow system.

EDS has Medicaid support contracts in 17 states. The company offers IT, applications and business process services, has more than 130,000 employees and annual sales of $20.6 billion. EDS is ranked No. 8 on Washington Technology's 2004 list of the Top 100 government contractors.
