ACS inks New Jersey Medicaid support deal

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $59.5 million contract from a division of the New Jersey Department of Human Services for Medicaid-related services.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $59.5 million contract from the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services within the New Jersey Department of Human Services' to provide Medicaid-related services, the company announced today.

The contract is for three and one-half years with two one-year options.

ACS of Dallas will serve as health benefits coordinator for Medicaid managed care programs supporting New Jersey's Medicaid and State Children's Health Insurance programs.

ACS will provide services to include screening and processing applications, determining program eligibility for the FamilyCare program, assessing and collecting premiums, and providing outreach, marketing, education and communication services and support.

The company also will conduct and maintain enrollment with managed-care organizations, provide call center operations and handle mailroom services.

ACS offers IT and business process outsourcing services to government and commercial clients. The company has more than 43,000 services and annual sales of $4.1 billion. It was No. 38 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
