SES Americom closes Verestar deal

Satellite services company SES Americom Inc. completed its acquisition of Verestar Inc. of Fairfax, Va., for $18.5 million in cash.

Princeton, N.J.-based SES Americom announced the transaction in April. Verestar, which offers satellite and fiber-optic services, had been under court bankruptcy protection since December 2003.

SES Americom refocused two of its divisions affected by the acquisition prior to integrating Verestar's employees, assets and operations.
