McDonald Bradley to validate new patent office systems

McDonald Bradley Inc. won a subcontract potentially worth $8 million to provide independent verification and validation services for the Patent and Trademark Office, the company said today.

McDonald Bradley will perform the work under the agency's Information Technology Product Assurance services contract, awarded to Galaxy Scientific Corp. The contract provides services for design, development and implementation of new automated systems as well as the enhancement of existing systems.

It also supports creation and rollout of infrastructure changes for patent and trademark application processing and examination functions, management and administrative systems and the dissemination of information to the public.

The entire contract is worth nearly $40 million over five years. It was awarded to Galaxy Scientific last April, and work started in July.

Based in Herndon, Va., McDonald Bradley is a privately held company that provides IT solutions to federal, state and local government clients. The company employs approximately 200 people and had 2003 revenue of $36.2 million, according to Hoover's Online.
