Dallas names Anderson CIO

Brian Anderson, a former Philadelphia CIO, is the new chief information officer and director of communication and information services in Dallas.

Dallas has hired Brian Anderson as its new chief information officer and director of communication and information services.

Anderson has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology field. Most recently, he was CIO and director of research and development for Washington-based Public Technology Inc., a national nonprofit technology research and consulting organization for state and local governments.

He served as CIO for Philadelphia from 1998 to 2000. He also has worked as vice president of Aetna U.S. Healthcare in business information systems.

Anderson holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Philadelphia's Drexel University.

Anderson started his new post Aug. 4. The technology staffing firm Arcus LLC of Harrisburg, Pa., recruited him for Dallas, which is one of its public-sector clients.
