School needs automated operator

The University of North Carolina at Wilmington wants an automated voice system that can answer and transfer calls through a voice recognition systems.

The university's system receives about 420 calls a day, which are answered by three operators using PC consoles. The heart of the system is an Avaya S8700 communications server.

The automated system will first be used at night. System testing and customer

surveys will determine if its use should be expanded to 24 hours a day.
