SRA nets $23 million defense deal

SRA International Inc. won a contract to continue providing project management, systems engineering and other technical services to the Defense Department.

SRA International Inc. of Fairfax, Va., won a contract to continue providing project management, systems engineering and other technical services to the Defense Department's Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Advanced Systems and Concepts, SRA officials announced today.

The task order was awarded under the General Services Administration's Management, Organizational and Business Improvement Services schedule. It is worth about $22.7 million over five years if all options are exercised, according to SRA officials.

The Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Advanced Systems and Concepts responds to urgent warfighter needs through advanced technology programs that provide new warfighting solutions. The office's mission-critical requirements include support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and homeland security and counterterrorism initiatives.

Since 1996, SRA's Adroit Command and Control, Communications, Computers,
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Center has been the prime systems engineering and technical assistance contractor supporting the accelerated defense capabilities and technology transition mission of the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Advanced Systems and Concepts.

According to SRA officials, the company will continue its support of all business processes, including project management, information technology system development and maintenance, personnel system management, and database development and maintenance.
