Treasury seeks new network

	The Treasury Department this month released a request for proposals for the Treasury Communications Enterprise, the agency's next-generation enterprise network, to enhance communications services now provided by Northrop Grumman Corp.

The Treasury Department this month released a request for proposals for the Treasury Communications Enterprise, the agency's next-generation enterprise network, to enhance communications services now provided by Northrop Grumman Corp.

Northrop Grumman's contract expires in September 2005. The 10-year contract could be worth $3 billion if all options are exercised. The department wants to award the contract by October to ensure a smooth transition.
