CGI, CACI finish AMS deal

The deal dividing American Management Systems Inc.'s assets between CGI Group Inc. and CACI International Inc. closed May 3.

The deal dividing American Management Systems Inc.'s assets between CGI Group Inc. and CACI International Inc. closed May 3.

AMS of Fairfax, Va., was sold to CGI in Montreal for $858 million. The Canadian company retained AMS' commercial and nondefense government business, but AMS' U.S. Defense and Intelligence Group went to CACI for $415 million, making CGI's net cost $443 million.

CGI's portion of AMS will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Canadian company. AMS' U.S. Defense and Intelligence Group will be absorbed into CACI's subsidiary, CACI Enterprise Solutions Inc. of Fairfax, Va.
