Telos gathers security solutions under Xacta umbrella

Company says the move is intended to give agencies and integrators a single point of contact for IT security projects.

Xacta was created in 2000 to focus on information assurance and IT certification and accreditation software and services. The company recently launched Xacta IA Manager, which provides automated vulnerability management and remediation processes in an information security risk assessment and compliance solution."Xacta's success and product innovations have helped drive the direction of the security market, while developing new and better approaches to information security," said John Wood, chief executive officer of Telos. "With the inclusion of Telos' previously held security offerings under the Xacta name, we're anticipating even greater success in the information security market."In addition to reselling Xacta's offerings, Telos will continue to provide system integration and value-added reseller solutions to government customers. With 2003 revenue of $88.4 million, Telos ranked No. 57 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue. Washington Technology's 2004 rankings are due out May 10.

Telos Corp., Ashburn, Va., will merge its security products and services with those of its Xacta Corp. subsidiary and sell them under the Xacta name. The move is intended to give agencies and integrators a single point of contact for IT security projects, the company said.

According to officials, three Telos security-related businesses will receive the Xacta brand:
