Florida names Ralston acting CIO

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has appointed Foyt Ralston to serve as the acting chief information officer.

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has appointed Foyt Ralston to serve as the acting chief information officer for the state.

Ralston, who began serving March 1, was previously chief of staff for the Florida State Technology Office. He replaces Kim Bahrami, who resigned as state CIO Feb. 4.

As chief of staff, Ralston provided oversight and guidance to the offices of Legislative Affairs and Communications, Digital Divide Council and the marketing team.

Ralston has more than 10 years of government affairs experience, including service as the staff director for the Florida Senate Majority Office and director of governmental affairs for the Florida Hospital Association.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in political science and history from Florida State University.
