McNeil Technologies Inc. of Springfield, Va., has acquired Research and Evaluation Associates Inc., a Chapel Hill, N.C.-based company that offers services to state and federal agencies. Terms of the cash deal were not available.
Jack Dulan, chief financial officer of McNeil Technologies, said the company expects to see $7.5 million in additional annual revenue from the deal.
According to the company, the acquisition will give McNeil Technologies' expertise in policy research and program evaluation, training and technical assistance, information dissemination and conference coordination, and program development.
McNeil Technologies also was interested in Research and Evaluation Associates for the work it does with the Labor Department, including supporting a call center for Job Corps, a national job training program for at-risk youths.
"This acquisition will enable McNeil Technologies to broaden our consulting services arena with a government call center, where we can assist and help economically disadvantaged individuals in the employment arena find new job opportunities," said James McNeil, chairman and chief executive office of McNeil Technologies.
With 700 employees worldwide and $33 million in 2002 revenues, McNeil Technologies provides professional and security services to business and government customers, including the Air Force, Energy Department and the Defense Intelligence Agency.
