Seven companies have won a spot on the Defense Department's Intelligence Information Systems Integration and Engineering Support Services Contract 3, called Diescon 3. The blanket purchase agreement is slated to last up to five years.

Market research firm Input Inc. estimates the value of the BPA at $300 million. One of the winners, Computer Sciences Corp., estimated that its portion of the award will exceed $120 million.

The other winners are BAE Systems Plc, Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., SRA International Inc. and Titan Corp. A deal for Lockheed Martin to acquire Titan is expected to close in early 2004.

Diescon 3 is a vehicle for the intelligence community to buy IT support services from pre-approved vendors. The seven contractors on the BPA will compete with each other for task orders.
