CSC chosen to support Navy aircraft carriers

Computer Sciences Corp. won a task order from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide professional services to the Program Executive Office Aircraft Carriers, the company said.

The task order, for two years with three one-year option periods and seven one-year award term periods, is worth approximately $55 million if all options and award terms are exercised.

Under the task order, El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC will provide PEO Carriers with professional support services including program management and integrated logistics support.

PEO Carriers is responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of all Navy aircraft carriers. This includes responsibility for in-service carriers, the CVN 68 Class Refueling and Complex Overhaul program, the CVN 77 new construction program, and the CVN 21 future aircraft carrier program.

With 2002 revenues of $11.4 billion, CSC is No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal prime contracting revenue.
