Essex team wins $57 million intel agency work

A team led by Essex Corp., Columbia, Md., has won a $57 million contract to deliver custom systems and support to an unnamed intelligence agency, the company announced last week.

Under this contract, a three-month deal with four option years, Essex will deliver software, systems engineering and custom systems for "national priority programs," according to the company. The company did not name the agency, citing national security concerns.

Essex' team includes Harris Corp., Melborune, Fla., as well as Expert Network and Software Engineering, Inc., Columbia, Md.; Leading Edge Design & Systems Inc., Severn, Md.; Poole & Associates, Gibsonville, N.C.; and Vision Systems & Technology, Inc., Ellicott City, Md.,

Founded in 1969, Essex specializes in signal processing, optical engineering and advanced processing and communications solutions.
