Seven tapped for $3 billion Navy systems contract

Seven companies have won spots on the first part of the eight-year, $3 billion Navy Training Systems Contract II.

Awards went to Advanced Engineering and Research Associates, Anteon International Corp., the Boeing Co., Carley Corp., Delex Systems Inc., DP Associates Inc. and Lockheed Martin Corp.

The contract supports the Naval Air Systems Command's training systems division. Lot 2 was awarded Aug. 20. Lot 1 is expected to be awarded by the end of September.

Under the Lot 2, the companies will compete for task orders for designing, developing, implementing and evaluating technology-based curricula. Work will include instructional systems, human performance systems, job performance aids, computer-based training, distributed learning, and the hardware and software associated with technology-based training.

It also includes the development, installation, test and support of electronic classrooms, learning centers and computer laboratories.
