Colorado taps ACS for child support services

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $3.1 million contract from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to provide child health support services, the company announced today.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will provide eligibility, enrollment, marketing and member services for the state's Child Health Plan Plus program.

ACS will process applications, determine eligibility, enroll members, administer enrollment fees and coordinate the program's nonmedical appeals process. The company also will operate a customer call center, perform marketing and outreach for the program and provide support for community-based organizations in their outreach programs.

More than 48,000 children are enrolled in the Colorado Child Health Plan Plus program. ACS' solution will feature a document imaging system that will improve the efficiency and accuracy of administrative processes, while enhancing customer service for the program, company officials said.

ACS serves as fiscal agent for Colorado's Medicaid program and also provides pharmacy benefits management services for the state.

ACS is a provider of business process and information technology outsourcing services to commercial and government clients. The company has more than 40,000 employees and had annual sales of $3.7 billion in 2003, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
