CSC Wins $36M Navy contract

Computer Sciences Corp. won a contract to provide business and program management support to the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center in Charleston, S.C.

The contract, which is for one year with four one-year options, has an estimated value of $36 million if all options are exercised, the company said Thursday.

Under the contract, El Segundo, Calif., CSC will help SPAWAR's Command and Control Systems Department analyze its business operations and implement commercial best practices. CSC will also provide program and project management, financial management, information technology and administrative support.

CSC has won several other process reengineering projects at other SPAWAR offices.

Work on the contract will be performed in Charleston, Tidewater, Va., and Patuxent River, Md.

CSC had $11.4 billion in revenue in 2002 and is ranked No. 5 in the Washington Technology Top 100. The company employs about 90,000 people.
