Washington Technology honored

Washington Technology and Government Computer News, two newspapers published by PostNewsweek Tech Media, were honored as finalists in a national business journalism contest.

The Jesse H. Neal Award certificates were presented by American Business Media, a New York industry association for business-to-business information providers, including magazines, Web sites and trade shows.

Washington Technology was a finalist for best single article in the category for publications with $3 million to $7 million in annual revenue for its Oct. 21, 2002, reporting on "Network-Centric Warfare" and new defense opportunities by Staff Writer Joab Jackson. There were 1,093 entries from business publications across the country.

GCN was a finalist for best single issue for its Feb. 18, 2002, edition, which included coverage of federal government IT budget proposals and a management report on systems modernization efforts.

PostNewsweek Tech Media is a unit of PostNewsweek Media, a division of The Washington Post Co. that also includes the FOSE trade show.
