GSA takes center stage at next WT Industry Day

Our first Washington Technology Industry Day of 2016 will focus on GSA and the critical role it plays in procurement. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from GSA officials about their priories and needs for 2016 and beyond.

We’re wrapping up the final details on our first Washington Technology Industry Day of 2016, and this time around, the spotlight will fall on GSA and in particular the Office of Integrated Technology Services.

Known as ITS, the office manages some of the most important contract vehicles in the market including IT Schedule 70, the Alliant contracts and the huge Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions program, the $50 billion program for telecommunications services and the replacement for Networx.

The half-day event is scheduled for Feb. 10 at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, Va. Registration and breakfast kick off at 7:30 a.m. and the program begins at 8:30 a.m. Click here for information on how to register.

We’ll have high-level speakers from GSA talking about what's new and evolving with the schedules, the government-wide acquisition contracts and cloud computing.

And in case you don’t realize how important GSA is to government contracting, consider a couple numbers: $14 billion in product and services sales through Schedule 70 and $50 billion, which is the expected ceiling on Alliant 2.

And putting the contract vehicles aside for a moment, GSA is often at the leading edge of procurement initiatives such as strategic sourcing, streamlined acquisitions and cloud computing.

Regardless of where you sit in the market, understanding how GSA operates and what it is focused on is critical to success in the market.

I’ll be playing the role of host and moderator, so please say "Hi" when you see me.
