Take our State of the Union poll

I’m writing this before the speech so I don't know any specifics about what will be said, but we know the State of the Union speech will make news.

We also know that Congress has decided to go with an interparty seating chart in a show of bipartisanship.

So what I’m wondering is, what does bipartisanship mean for government contractors?

Please take our one question poll and post comments below on what you gleaned from the State of the Union address.

Nothing will stop Issa from turning over rocks. He will get companies in his sights after starting with government negligence in contract oversight. Today's hearing on Tarp will, for example, eventually get to the fat Wall Street contracts of firms running the various bailouts, after Treasury mismanagement and conflicts of interest are identified. Civility is not what is being called for, merely the truth. Can the industry handle the truth? No sign that it does this well, e.g, Tech America rants. The small business push has some legs, but not enough to cause a zero-sum capture of dollars from the usual suspects. Failed programs, not just in Defense, will be attacked, with civility or not. It will be a plus for the stinkers to be eliminated. One thing we need to watch out for is the govt restructuring proposal the Pres. promised last night. That is the last thing we need. Restructurings are almost always botched and clobber productivity and encumber the short attention spans of senior executives and political appointees. Nothing to do with civility, Obama sounded like a Republican pretty much last night.
