Do you Twitter?

OK, maybe we’re a little slow to the Twitter world, but we’re here now.

Of course, I'm still trying to figure how to use it and what to do with it, but we’ve got people following us and we’re following other people.

We’ve set up an RSS feed from Washington Technology to Twitter, so if you follow us, you’ll get our latest headlines and other updates.  I'm checking the folks we're following to find other stories that might be of interest to government contractors.

I'm also looking to connect because I want the magazine to become more interactive and be more on the leading edge of what people are thinking and feeling.

Click here for our home on Twitter. Link to it. Offer suggestions on who we should be following and share some stories on how you use Twitter, particularly for work.

I know I want to learn more and I’m sure others who are just putting their toes into water will want some tips too.

Nice to get the Washington Technology team twitter-fied! It does take a little getting used, like all of the other exciting new "productivity" tools! Looking forward to following your twitter tweets! David

Welcome to the world of social media. Because of the nature of social media (e.g. your Twitter feed can be your status on Facebook, etc.), it lends itself a little more readily to information repurposing. Hopefully the government won't continue to turn a blind eye to what's out there and learn to leverage it. After all, our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines are using MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and others to collaborate because the military doesn't offer them the tools to do so. Our enemies are CERTAINLY using social media much better than we are; we need to catch up to the game because the costs of catching up grow exponentially.
