A call for nominations

There are still a couple weeks left to nominate your company or leading executives for contractor of the year awards given by the Fairfax County, Va., Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology.

Applications are due June 20. More information is here.

Awards are given in several size categories for contractor and executive of the year. A Hall of Fame award also is given. Some of last year's winners included American Systems Corp., Oberon Associates, and Lockheed Martin Corp.

I encourage you to get your nominations in. One of the fun things about this event is that the winners are not announced until the night of the awards banquet. It gives a real buzz and sense of anticipation to the dinner.

This year the dinner is Oct. 7 at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Corner, Va.

It is a great way to get recognition for your company as well as an opportunity to network and connect with people.
