Former FAA exec to lead iBiz transportation business

DIGITALiBiz Inc. has hired Michael Hawthorn as vice president of transportation solutions and strategies.

Also known as iBiz, the Rockville, Maryland-based company provides IT solutions, systems engineering and integration, research and analysis, communications strategy and program management services to federal agencies.

Hawthorn is a former official with the Federal Aviation Administration and current board member of the Air Traffic Control Association.

At iBiz, he will oversee operations and business development efforts of the company’s transportation contracts, particularly programs supporting the FAA's NextGen initiatives. He will also be a member of the iBiz executive leadership team that works together to determine the company’s overall corporate strategy and direction.

At the FAA, Hawthorne worked on multiple programs including Data Communications, En Route Automation Modernization and System Wide Information Management.
