Altamira's Davies to takes vice chair role at IAC

Altamira CEO Ted Davies, shown here in a 2017 Government Matters appearance, is set to take over as vice chair of the Industry Advisory Council.

Ted Davies, CEO of Altamira Technologies Corporation, will take over as vice chair of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) in the wake of the departure of Tony Scott, the organization announced this morning.

Davies will take over as chairman of IAC once his vice chair term expires, as is customary at the organization. IAC is the industry half of ACT-IAC, an educational and professional development group that focuses on best practices for the deployment of technology in government.

Davies took over as CEO of Altamira, a private company focused on defense and intelligence, in 2014. Before that he was president of federal systems at Unisys. He won a Fed 100 award from FCW in 2011.

Current IAC Chairman Paul Strasser made the move in accordance with the organization's bylaws. In a statement, Strasser acknowledged that the appointment of a new vice chair was "unprecedented" and that he "consulted with several past IAC Chairs before arriving at the decision."

Scott resigned as vice chair effective Sept. 9 "to accommodate his need to spend more time in California to support his family and other commitments," according to Strasser's statement.
