ECS Federal has won an $8.8 million contract to support the Missile Defense Agency strategic budget planning and financial analysis needs.

The contract is a sole-source award but is only for five months while MDA awards a competitive contract for the work.

MDA is a long-time customer of ECS. In addition to budget planning and analysis, ECS will be helping with liaison support for internal and external MDA customers, business financial management support, cost estimating and earned value management.

MDA has an ongoing effort to improve its financial systems and process.

Most of the work will be at locations in Huntsville, Ala., Colorado Springs, Colo., Dahlgren, Va., Albuquerque, N.M., and Fort Belvoir, Va.

ECS began supporting the Missile Defense Agency when it acquired Paradigm Technologies Inc. at the end of 2011. MDA was one of several defense clients Paradigm brought to ECS.

The company touts its relationship with the agency on its website, listing work on MDA’s financial systems and support for strategic planning and financial management support.
