BDO USA taps new managing director

BDO USA LLP has appointed Tim Helm to the position of managing director in the company’s Washington, D.C., office.
In his new role, Helm will support the government contractor labor law compliance practice, focusing on helping contractors navigate various labor laws including the Service Contract Act, Davis-Bacon Act, new interim sick leave rule, federal minimum wage requirements, and others.
Helm joins BDO from the Department of Labor, where he served as an investigator in the department’s Wage and Hour Division, Pennsylvania district office.
From there, he was transferred to the division’s national office where he served as the director of government contracts enforcement, the company said in a release. He retired from the Labor Department in February 2015 after more than 33 years of government service.
