Who won September's biggest contracts?

Contract award activity kicked it into high gear in the ninth month of 2016—the final month of the federal fiscal year—with Washington Technology reporting on a record-setting 72 awards.

September, known in the industry as being the month where the government must “use it or lose it” with their contracting dollars, saw a much larger number of awards than August’s 44 awards.

September 2016’s 72 awards is also more than September 2015’s 70 awards. Washington Technology has covered 454 awards so far this year, compared to 449 awards at this point last year.

To make the list in September, you had to have a contract with a value greater than $154.7 million. September’s contract threshold is higher than last month’s $104 million threshold.

10. GDIT nabs $154.7M task order to support DIA IT component

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $154.7 million Enterprise Communications Services 2 task order to support the Defense Intelligence Agency.

9. Zel Tech scores $165.3M OASIS order for anti-IED work

Zel Tech has won a $165.3 million OASIS task order to provide the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency with a variety of professional services.

8. InfoZen captures $208M DHS contract

InfoZen has won a $208 million contract to support the Citizen and Immigration Services’ Office of Information Technology and it took on the one of the market's biggest companies to do it.

7. Seventeen win spots on $248.8M contract to support Army PEO

Seventeen companies have won spots on a $248.8 million contract to support the Army’s Program Executive Office for Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors.

6. Accenture subsidiary wins potentially $286M contract to support VA service desk program

ASM Research has won a potentially $286 million contract to support the Veterans Affairs Administration’s National Service Desk.

5. DRS scores $339.3M contract to support Army enemy engagement system

DRS Network and Imaging Systems has won a $339.3 million contract to support the Army’s Joint Effects Targeting System.

4. Lockheed awarded $395M in options to produce two more GPS III satellites

Lockheed Martin has been awarded $395 million in contract options by the Air Force to produce the ninth and tenth Global Positioning System III satellite.

3. GDIT nets $430M contract to support 2020 Census contact centers

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $430 million, single-award contract to provide contact-center systems and operations support for the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Census Questionnaire Assistance program.

2. The RAND Corp. wins $500M contract for R&D studies

The RAND Corp. was awarded a five-year indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract worth $500 million to provide research and development for the Homeland Security Operational Analysis Center.

1. Leidos scores $777M contract to support Army 3D geospatial information program

Leidos has won a single-award $777 million contract to support the Army Geospatial Center’s High-Resolution 3-D (HR3D) Geospatial Information program.
