$49.5M contract awarded to support air quality forecasting system

Blue Storm Associates, doing business as PEMDAS Technologies and Innovation has won a $49.5 million contract with the Army to support the Atmospheric Sensing and Prediction System.

The Atmospheric Sensing and Prediction System aims to improve air quality forecasting, according to the National Center for Atmospheric Research website.

The system is meant to be placed on aircraft to increase weather data in areas where such data is sparse, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work is expected to be completed in September 2021.
