FISMA report reveals agencies still have work to do

According to the Office of Management and Budget’s annual cybersecurity report card, federal agencies are still vulnerable to common cyberattacks, FCW reported.

This isn’t to say agencies aren’t trying; though agencies reported around 77,000 cybersecurity incidents between fiscal 2014 and fiscal 2015, they also worked through the 30-day cybersecurity sprint and the Cybersecurity Strategy and Implementation Plan.

However, while these initiatives were a step in the right direction, they also revealed further weaknesses, FCW said. OMB emphasized CyberStat meeting with agencies and other work to help quell  cybersecurity incidents.
