Congressman again pushes for Pentagon acquisition reform

Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) is for the second time introduced an acquisition reform bill focusing on the Pentagon, according to FCW.

The bill, called the Acquisition Agility Act, includes encouragement for experimentation and prototyping of technology, requirements for systems to be built with open architecture and clarification of intellectual property rights of companies working with the Defense Department, FCW reported.

At an event, Thornberry was quoted by FCW as saying he was concerned that companies are walking away from doing business with the Defense Department, and hoped that clarity around intellectual property for these components will bring more into the business.
