FirstNet on schedule to make $6.5B award in November

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) is aiming to be finished answering questions about its upcoming network contract by next week, according to FCW.

FirstNet released its request for proposals in February and is on schedule to make an award in November. Deltek places the value of the contract at $6.5 billion.

The winning bidder will build and operate the system with 20 MHz of 700MHz broadband spectrum under a lease agreement, FCW reported.
