AAI Corp., doing business as Textron Systems, has been awarded a $19.4 million contract modification with the Army to support the Shadow unmanned aerial vehicle.

The Shadow UAV is used to locate and identify targets within range of a brigade tactical operations center, the Army said on its website.

Under the contract, AAI will provide tactical data link retrofit services, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in Hunt Valley, Md., and is expected to be completed in January 2019.
