System One makes deal for Alta

System One gives its government business a boost with acquisition of Alta IT Services.

System One Inc., a Pittsburgh-based provider of IT and staffing solutions, has given its government business a boost with the acquisition of Alta IT Services.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Along with its government customers, Alta IT Services, of Rockville, Md., brings a Top Secret Facility clearance. Alta also works closely with government contractors who need its staffing and consulting services, System One said in a release.

Alta CEO Howard Stein is retiring with the sale after leading the company for 30 years. Alta Executive Vice President Rich Paolicelli, will lead the company as it becomes a subsidiary of System One.

The acquisition expands System One’s workforce solutions, which include software and applications development, systems integration, project management, and infrastructure and data management.

With Alta, the company will focus on talent that supports legacy systems and emerging technologies that support IT projects and business functions, the company said.

“Our firms’ combined service portfolio bridges the gap between business operations and IT expertise, offering our clients a proven path to efficient design and deployment of technology,” said Troy Gregory, president and CEO of System One.
