New group takes on poor quality IT data

A joint industry-government group is trying to take on the problem of poor quality of data on government IT spending.

The Commission on IT Cost, Opportunity, Strategy and Transparency or IT COST is comprised of federal and private sector CIOs. They will develop a set of recommendations to improve transparency and provide visibility into IT buys, according to Federal Times

The commission will have its first meeting in June, and will have its final report with recommendations out in 2016.
