ViaSat wins $12.3M contract to repair communications system

ViaSat Inc. has won a $12.3 million contract with the Navy to repair the Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems used on various aircraft platforms.

ViaSat Inc. has won a $12.3 million contract with the Navy to repair the Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems used on various aircraft platforms.

The Multifunctional Information Distribution System provides secure, high-capacity, jam-resistant, digital data and voice communications capability for Navy, Air Force and Army platforms.

Work will be performed in Carlsbad, Calif., and is expected to be completed April 2018.

ViaSat Inc. was the only bidder on this contract, according to the Defense Department.
