USPS looking to modernize mail truck delivery fleet

The U.S. Postal Service is looking to build a next-generation delivery fleet that will be more aligned with today’s world, according to Federal Times.

USPS will set up a vehicle procurement that will allow the agency to rethink the way it delivers mail, taking a close look at things like technology and fuel economy.

The agency said that it knows of ways that its fleet can be improved. USPS is looking at replacing its 163,000 mail delivery trucks at a cost of at least $4.5 billion, Federal Times reported.
