Lockheed Martin has won a $485 million sole source contract to provide the Air Force with sniper advanced targeting pods.

In addition to the pods, the Defense Department said in a release, the company will provide initial spares, 1K forward-looking infrareds and two-way data links.

The targeting pods fulfill precision strike mission requirements, provide long-range target detection and identification and continuous surveillance for missions, including close air support of ground forces, Lockheed Martin said on their website.

Work will be performed in Orlando, Fla., and is expected to be completed by March 2018.
