Basic Commerce & Industries Inc. has won a $10.9 million contract to support the Navy’s weather radar through-the-sensor systems.
Through-the-sensor systems allow radars to effectively provide weather radar data as a secondary output from their normal operation, according to BCI’s website.
Under the contract, BCI will produce, integrate, install these systems as well as provide installation support, system and software support and maintenance of the systems.
This contract is part of the Small Business Innovation Research program, according to the Defense Department.
Work will be performed in Moorestown, N.J., and San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed in March 2020.
